A semi-naked wedding cake, with artist palette markings and gold leaf. The pop of bright colours and macaroon off set the soft pinks and greys.The trailing jasmine foliage create shape and ‘grow’ around the cake. This gave a real sense of romance by adding our vintage brass candlesticks and tealight holders.

Options for wedding dresses were classic and timeless and another wedding dress style boho with a twist of glamour unique with its stunning over skirt train complimented with an off the shoulder merino wool shawl. The shawl; not only did it keep our bride cosy and warm but the beautiful mink colour went perfectly with the brides flower crown.

As The Beatles famously said, "We get by with a little help from our friends" and this is never truer than at a wedding. Hannah, our bride today, was in the very fortunate position of having a mum who runs the GORGEOUS Rustic Rentals but she also says that their wedding wouldn't have been a success were not for the extraordinary generosity and talent of their family and friends. Isn't that just lovely?! From the incredible flower hoop to the prettiest maids in cornflour blue, there are so many elements to love about this wedding.

"As two people who love the outdoors we wanted a relaxed day in a beautiful setting surrounded by friends and family. We were drawn to the beauty and simplicity of Streamcombe Farm, the rustic woodland setting and mature country gardens within the Exmoor National Park. The fact we could make it a full weekend celebration with accommodation and camping on site made it a natural choice for us." - Hannah & Stuart

Hannah and Stuart wanted a country, woodland styled decor with florals in blush neutral colours. With a simple marquee which needed glamourising all the ingredients were there for some epic florals and my goodness they are epic. In total there were 18 flower hoops, softened slightly with voile with lots of greenery, pretty florals and candlelight.

It can be as eclectic as you wish or rustic and include modern touches. In fact I think the combination of all three is perfect to create a style just perfect for you.

Autumn wedding flowers are available in such beautiful and warm collars, in coppers, oranges, burgundies, golds, and an opportunity to add colour to your wedding. Tips to design a cotswold sustainable wedding

We all need to our bit to help the environment and create more sustainable weddings by reusing, repurposing and recycling this is achieved when you hire wedding decor and hiring wedding props and by using seasonal and locally grown flowers and foliage where possible. decor and hire props you areither a large budget or small budget the best option is to hire your props and accessories as we have a fantastic range of unique vintage and modern props from the UK, France and India and accessories to create this look on any budget and for a fraction of the cost of buying new. You also are doing your bit for the environment by re-using.

The larger the budget the more you can hire and have a larger budget for the flowers. Equally on a low budget add more tealights and also some home grown flowers or some from you family and friends gardens. You can supplement the florist’s table decorations with pots, jars with your flowers add tea lights and candles.

Personal touches make all the difference, Style your table plan with shutters and pretty pots, greenery hoops, use an old window frame or pallet to have name places on, and of course the ever popular ladders with flowers, wellington boots filled with flowers.

Vintage linen, gauze table runners, chiffon table runners or cheesecloth table runners all help to add to the look or keep it very rustic with wooden trestles, foliage garland runners and vintage seating and lots of lanterns and tea lights.

Decorate wedding ceilings with muslin drapes, festoon lighting, floral or greenery hoops or cart wheels.

Botanical and Greenery Wedding Decor trend continues to be popular and is suitable for a hotel wedding, country house wedding, barn wedding, village hall wedding, marquee wedding or tepee wedding – I love the greenery and botanical wedding look especially when styled with terrariums, succulents and eucalyptus.

This also compliments a more modern, French or Italian theme using herbs for wedding flowers and can of course include vintage wedding decor or modern wedding decor & accessories .

I love this wedding look accompanied with wooden items of every description particularly wedding trestle tables with brass hire candlesticks, terrarium lanterns hire , tealights from our hire collection and beautiful fabric table runners in gauze, cheesecloth runner, chiffon table runner. You can complement with brass, copper, silver, glass or gold wedding table accessories an tealights and coloured tapered candles add a touch of colour to your wedding table – either a vintage wedding or modern wedding theme to suit your personal choice - I love to mix and match unless you are very set on either a modern wedding theme or vintage wedding theme.

If creating vintage why not use our vintage copper hire items or if choosing a modern theme add our geometric lanterns and copper terrarium which look great in amongst the foliage and flowers. I have plenty of both for wedding hire and my collection continues to grow.

Tips to achieve this:

For the wedding breakfast we moved the garland from the ceremony table to the top table and added in a few detailed pieces such as the Tillandsia, succulents, vintage gold candlesticks and votives. These tied in perfectly with the beautiful china, glass ware and cutlery by Vintage Gold China. Amanda from Vintage Gold China supplied her elegant vintage tableware. Nicole from One Last Thing provided the stationery. Classic stationery with accents of eucalyptus to match the theme.

Of course I would say for either a large budget or small budget the best option is to hire your props and accessories as we have a fantastic range of unique vintage and modern props from the UK, France and India and accessories to create this look on any budget and for a fraction of the cost of buying new. Blue and Gold Winter Barn Wedding Inspiration

Winter Elegant Blue and Gold Wedding Inspiration at Lapstone Barn

I love all things vintage, especially French and knew instantly from the mod board sent to me by Tulle and Blue which props I would love to select to style and decorate Lapstone Barn to match the mood board.

This is how I can help you. Once you’ve selected your venue, and have an idea of what you would like or don’t have clue what you would like we get to have fun and be creative if you’ve chosen to use our styling service.

You may know what you would like and then you can select the props you would like direct from our website.

I felt our French grey shutters painted with grey with a lilac tone that compliments so many colour schemes are painted with Annie Sloane chalk paint along with the French Jardiniere would be perfect to create simple and elegant backdrops that would both tone with and compliment the gorgeous foliage garland and foliage hoop. The shutters were used to create the backdrops for the sweet heart table, welcome sign, table plan and cake display - all accessorised with a blue chiffon runner, vintage brass taper candlesticks, gold tone votives with various size French and Nordic candles in complimenting tonal and accent colours. You can never have enough candlesticks - right?

Inspiration for the winter set backdrop came from the the blue wooden panelling outside the barn which we used to create and provide contrast to the natural wood of the vintage skis and the textures and tones of the foliage and delicate flowers used in the floral hoops. I accessorised this set up with different textural accessories comprising of fur throws, vintage skates, vintage wooden sledge, along with cream and gold Moroccan style lanterns. Modern and vintage can always work well together so never be afraid to mix them, also to mix metallics.

In selecting accessories to compliment the Props to incorporate, I chose tones of greys, blues and whites for the candles in varying sizes and heights, with warming accents of vintage brass and gold glass votives, all of which have embodied texture and details. The devil is always in the detail.

Round or long tables always a debate - both are great and here we examples showing how you can decorate a rustic long table and also a round more traditional formal table.

I had to add in some of our winter sports props being a lover of winter sports - especially skiing and sledging.
